Book Review: A Jane Austen Devotional

Hi, A Jane Austen Devotional is written by Steffany Woolsey.  I have not actually finished this devotional.  I am really enjoying it, though.

Here’s how it works:

Each devotional starts off with an excerpt from one of Jane Austen’s fabulous books.
The devotional, “Taming the Tongue” gives an excerpt from Pride and Prejudice when Lydia says some mean things about the waiter.

Then there are, typically, three small paragraphs explaining how the character’s actions are an example of Christ-like behavior, or are not an example.
In “Taming the Tongue” Steffany Woolsey says “In Matthew 12:35, we are reminded that the words passing our lips  are always representative of what rules our hearts:”

The devotional ends with a Bible verse.

You can buy one here at Barnes & Noble.  If you buy it I hope you love it!

A Jane Austen Devotional is written by Steffany Woosley.  It was published by Thomas Nelson in Nashville, TN  in 2012.  My opinions are just that mine.
